A Visit to Pauls Parts, The Ultimate Silvia Parts Shop

Ireland is packed with sheds; when you think you’ve seen or heard about it all, something comes down the wire, and you must check it out. Paul Stryker and family have been in the scene for years, and Paul himself is a big Nissan guy. He asked us to look at the family collection some time ago, and it didn’t disappoint. The chicken sheds on the land were filled with cool cars like this Ex Uras R34 skyline, which survived the Ireland import boom in the 2010s.

Another survivor from that Era is this Car Planner Zone 180sx, another car Paul had acquired during Covid.

Incredibly, most of the kit is still intact from that time, albeit a little rough; it was all there except the front bumper.

This little restored E30 was excellent; they look so good in red.

This is Paul Defend Kitted S13. This kit was everywhere in Ireland years ago but has vanished since then. I love how Paul made this look as cool as possible as an Irish drift car, taking influence from all over, mainly Japan.

Paul showed us his selection of used parts he stores in a 40-foot container they have by the house. It is jam-packed with rare and unusual details he’s acquired over the years/He’s pretty much a one-stop shop for Nissan Silvia bits.

Headliners, glass, weird trims or bolts, basically the MR X of Nissan Silvia.

Seeing all these bits in the shed reminded me of the sheer amount of cars that came to Ireland back in the day; it was nuts just how many S chassis came here and were unfortunately broken for parts or killed in the line of fire.

I could have spent hours in here going through the stash; everything had a story to tell.

It’s a pretty hefty collection of SR gearboxes in various states.

Paul’s brother Ian was wrapping up his Trueno build. This was an exciting car.

This 86 was featured in one of our older videos; their other brother recently picked it up.

It means Trueno is sporting a K series build; I bet this thing will rip when finished!

The colour is quite similar to the look of my Trueno when it was fresh many moons ago.

We will have to call back for a look when it’s complete.

At Paul’s home house, he had this original s13 to show us, an initial CA18 early run of the chassis.

This was immaculate!

We got to take it up the side of the mountain for a drive.

Man, this was cool to see; there really can’t be too many left in this condition worldwide.

Across the yard was a customer’s 180sx; Paul was recently doing work on it. SSR Sp1s and gold spokes, this was a great look example.

Paul is rooting through his collection of hoarded parts; it’s nice to see the exhibition. It made me feel a little better about my addiction to this stuff.

What a view! The holy grail of seats, nicely stored

Paul has the bug nasty, and honestly, it makes me feel good knowing that there are others on this little Green Nugget in the Atlantic who share the same obsession for Japanese cars.

Anywhere you look, there’s an unexpected slice of goodness.

I’ll leave this one here; I pretty much did more vlog-related stuff and should have taken more photos, but we spent more time talking about how expensive the hobby is and how we are doomed for life. Regardless, I hope you enjoyed this little behind-the-scenes photo set from this visit to Paul Parts.
