We love a good back-story to a car. I had the privilege of bumping into Adrian and his UKITR a few months ago and it was such a treat to hear about this DC2 and the story behind it.
This particular Golf was a little bit of a mythical creature. I would see it once or twice a year, more often than not did I have to convince some people that this actually existed; it was like the tooth fairy, or the loch ness monster. Many people weren’t even aware that this homologation even existed. For those that aren’t aware, a homologation special in simple terms is where manufacturer is required to build a road going version of the car they wish to compete with for a particular series or event.

Its hard sometimes to define a good car. What makes a good car, everyone will have a different opinion on this? The same could be asked about the above..What makes a good Honda? The above civic is almost as close as you could get. It doesn’t need to have the most horsepower nor does it have the rarest components, the most insane engine, or the best suspension setup…
Dubshed 2016
Dubshed 2016 where do I start, let’s start on Sunday morning at 7 o’clock. Waking up to the rain pouring from the sky, it’s definitely not how I wanted the day to start but living here in Ireland I think seeing rain on the day of a car show has become the norm.
So Ive been in the city just over a year and a half, and in Canada Just about two years. If you ever get a chance to make it out here, I highly recommend checking out the sea to sky highway. Sometimes its a little over whelming just how jaw dropping the scenery is around Vancouver and British Columbia.
So its been enjoyable recapping when I get the chance, putting together these side stories on where I have been at since I departed Ireland over two years ago. For many longtime readers of the ramblings on here, you are aware that one part of Juicebox (Neil) is living in Canada and sort of taking a break from things. In the last one of these posts I was living in Edmonton, so about this time last year I made my way over to Vancouver, I couldn’t hack the snow. I decided to take the train back across Canada, something I would highly recommend to anyone, the scenery is almost too much to process.
Sometimes its best to just work with a winning formula. This Trueno is the perfect example of working with whats out there to create a timeless Gem. The AE86, especially a Panda schemed Trueno is probably one of the most iconic cars lingering on the top of any Japanese car enthusiast.
David picked up this car from a friend a little over a year ago. Prior to that he has never owned an AE86, but it was high on the list of cars he had to own, and simply put, hard work made that become a reality. It’s taken a very short period of time for David to shape this car to suit his personality, however I can tell you that this car is far from finished, in fact as I write this I know he is planning a change again in the near future.
Juicebox Made its way to one of the First Auto Hero events which was held at Mondello Circuit.
A chance for every part of the Irish car culture to gather and have a good time.
Here is Killians Cresta we features awhile back, now in its new skin. Freshened up and looking sharp. Sharleen caught a few nice snaps of this beast fresh out of the oven.

Thanks to everyone who has been following the site over the last few years, crazy to think we are going this long. Thanks to everyone who has been down for sipping some Juice. Good things to come in 2016.
To polish a turd or “The act of trying to make something hopelessly weak and unattractive appear strong and appealing. An impossible process that usually results in a larger, uglier turd’. From the outside looking in, sometimes our way of spending money and spending time may look like a lost cause to the outside world.
