Josh’s M3 Powered E30

Sadly, we won’t have Josh’s E30 around anymore. I did love the look of this car. At first, the square front end wasn’t doing it for me, but I trusted his judgement, and the final product was incredible. It was inevitable, hanging around with a collection of Japanese car enthusiasts, the parts and style choices would rub off on him sooner or later.

People can take so many different parts and routes in Japanese car culture; it’s a never-ending sea of inspiration. Josh decided to take a more Japanese-inspired route with this build. Steering away from the usual Irish look for these cars, he sources some Equip 40s and work Meisters. The idea was to build an E30 you would come across in an old Battle Magazine or Drift Tengoku. An E30 style like an AE86 or something from that era, Bride seats, a cage, Nardi wheel, Greddy gauges, stripped rear end, and Japanese wheels. I loved this thing, but Josh had enough of it, eventually selling it to fund an S15. He had finally crossed over to the dark side. Im glad he built this car. It shows how good these cars can look on smaller Japanese wheels with a drift-inspired look. Anyway, ‘s ill let these photos do the rest of the talking. Enjoy

Photos Unboxed: Ice Drifting in Sweden

It’s nice to finally get the photo features going on the website again. I’ve been pretty strapped for time over the last year with the Vlogs and trying to get work done on the AE86. When the website went under and the old hosting service basically held the site hostage, I didn’t have the time or patience to sit down and sort it all out and basically neglected it. A few weeks ago I had some free time over Christmas and decided to make it happen. Juicebox has over nine years worth of Blog content so it took a considerable amount of time to move everything over to a new server but its all working pretty decent now. I’ll kick things off with our trip to Sweden almost ten months ago. As many have you have seen the vlog we did, I’m going keep things pretty short under the photos and give a rough explanation as to what’s going on and maybe some insightful info that might not have been shared in the videos. This “Photos Unboxed” series will be a behind the scenes photo features accompanying the vlog series. In an age where reading and looking at websites is slowly dying,  I hope you enjoy the slower pace of these.

New years Driftfest at Watergrasshill

So its a new year, and weve taken a little sort of break from the website, mainly because life got a little hectic. What better way to start the new year with a bit of drift action. We trucked down towards Watergrass hill for the driftfest which has been gaining some serious steam each time this event. It makes for an exciting watch as pretty much any type of rear wheel drive car can be seen tearing it up with a driver of any skill level.

Drift: Mondello Drift Practice/Tsunami Appeal

I was glad to finally get a chance to cover the Mondello practice, which is held once a month at Mondello Circuit. Each time it had been on so far I couldn’t make it due to some nonsense in hospital but seems how everything was getting better, it was good to get out and start covering again! The day definitely lived up to my expectations. Everybody from all different levels of skill had the chance to hit the track and hone their skills.
