I was going crazy I missed this last year, so this year I made sure my weekend was free to trek up to the AE86 track day. It had been raining all week and was looking bad, which is typical in Ireland. Somehow the rain decided to take a break only for that Saturday and mother nature even showed us a bit of sunlight which is always a treat.
Chris Gray just got back from an interesting trip to the infamous Tec Art’s garage in Japan. For those of you who don’t know who Tec Art’s are they are probably one of the most well known ae86 tuners in Japan. Tec-Art’s is a small family-run shop in the outskirts of Tokyo, a place that over the years Kamata-san and his brother have turned into one of the most respected hachiroku shops in Japan, They’ve built some infamous cars, we recently had this video on the site of the Eco 86 which Tsuchiya drove around Tsukubu in video option.
The weather had managed to hold off, all it needed to do now was stay dry for just another couple of hours and everything would work for the better. The clouds were getting darker and it looked like mother nature was going against everyone but then Aaron came out blasting the Foo fighters and everything seemed to be just fine!
Lets continue where we stopped with part 1, looking at some super nice examples of some of the countries nicest ae86’s.
This deserved a Wtf Wednesday, but I could only find this scan, trust the Japanese to do something as insane as this The funny thing is, it actually looks kind of cool, I dunno, its probably one of those things that either looks wrong, or looks cool. That horrid nissan badge would have to go, it makes the car look like one of those Nissan altima’s or sentras for the US market. Its definitely more messed up looking then cool, but its not a bad looking conversion.
Damn this Pulsar is mean, sitting pretty on those Advan RGII’s, Not too many of these have ever really been played around with, and most more or less look the same. But this track monster is the first RNN14 Ive ever really been excited about.
Hot Version proves yet again that the AE86 can still keep up with the latest cars! While they proved the AE86 could still easily win from several great cars like the Skyline R34 or the Honda S2000 and tuners like RE-Amemiya and Amuse, they now proved it can even keep up with the latest Eco trends: the Tec-Arts Eco AE86 beats a field of Honda CR-Zs (and a Mini)!
What a cool video of the most epic KE70’s ever, these guys are definitely having a good time, and seem to be very handy behind the wheel of these KE’s. Im sure you have all heard of Motorfix by now. If not enjoy..
We all know about bosozoku by now, or well at least you should know about it. Sometimes an amazing car can come from this type of styling in Japan, some people can build some amazing cars and some cars are insane. This is the perfect example of what I mean More>>>
Check this amazing KE70. Ken Nomura, Daijiro Inada and Manabu Suzuki decide to get in for a spin as it starts to snow out. Everything about this KE is amazing The colour, the stance, right down to the Longchamps XR4’s. I would give anything to have one.
Some day maybe….
Simon just hit me up with some snaps of his new mode of transport. Its amazing, something different and not something you would see on our roads everyday.
Stole this from garagehachi’s blog, too good not to post. That KE70 wagon is fucking so good!
