This stuff doesn’t happen enough anymore, not with my generation of friends. Back in 2010 ish, this was an every weekend occupancy; we were surrounded by the best of cars, which we 100% took for granted at the time. We were all parked up with the best chassis, and the country was flooded with high-quality imports; it wasn’t uncommon to see a sight like this in every town up and down Ireland. Unfortunately, the recession came, and so did the end of days like this; cars were broken for parts, most people emigrated, and whatever was left was locked away in sheds.
The trip to Adam’s house was wild, from hanging out with Mike and the crew to driving LZ’s Porsche through the streets at night. I’ll let the photos do the talking here, as I said enough in the recap video. let’s just say, Adam is living everyone’s dream to pretty much complete Gran Turismo in real life.
In this episode, we head over to the other Barrys shed to see the family car collection. Barry and his Brother have stunning R32 Skylines and a few nice Hondas.
Just by pure chance after the shoot with the AE111 Levin, a fog rolled in that evening and Barry had just put the finishing touches on his freshly painted R32 Skyline. We were cooking on the BBQ and I felt it would be rude not to grab some shots of this beauty while we had such an epic background.
We shoot a stunning Blacktop 4A-GE AE111 Levin, a somewhat forgotten chassis and the guys go drifting their Datsuns at Mondello Park.
A few months back, Dan a good friend of some of the OG Waterford guys called down to Waterford for a visit. After a few conversations, I told him I was after buying an AE86 shell and was looking to go down the path of misery chasing parts and doing a restore.
The Irish car shed doesn’t get as much credit as it deserves, Sheds are the backbone of our car scene, the anchors to every good build.
