So its a new year, and weve taken a little sort of break from the website, mainly because life got a little hectic. What better way to start the new year with a bit of drift action. We trucked down towards Watergrass hill for the driftfest which has been gaining some serious steam each time this event. It makes for an exciting watch as pretty much any type of rear wheel drive car can be seen tearing it up with a driver of any skill level.

Megalopolis Expressway Trial or Shuto Kousoku is a series of films about illegal street racing on the Shuto Expressway in Japan released between 1988 and 1996.

So it has to be openly said this was one of the best events the country had seen in a long time. The most important part was the amount of effort people put in the make it to the show.The recession was winning the battle and probably still is in many minds when it comes to cars. Things were looking very gloomy but I have to admit, heatwave and then Japfest brought a very positive vibe back into the scene.

So since there is a nice gap in between the next Prodrift event, Mondello had another track day for drift practice, owners could pay 140 euros to drive on the track all day in pretty much whatever they choose. These days are just as if not more interesting then some of the professional events down to the fact that the track is a mix of Decent and learner driver’s so things can be very unpredictable. Most cars come home with at least one love tap or maybe two…
Eddy’s MK4 is the perfect example of a clean daily driver done right. Using a formula which has been tried and tested in the US and Europe it pretty much works like a charm when executed correctly. Like we have mentioned here before Juicebox the Mk4 Golf is in plentiful supply throughout Ireland, finding one that makes you look twice in the south is another challenge. The R32 is by far one of the most popular cars to come out of Japan. The BNR32GTR is by far one of the best cars ever made; it was almost unbeaten in the N1 category in Japan during its reign of terror. The car really pushed what was possible handling and electronics wise at that time. What is so good about this R32 Skyline is that it started life as an a lower base model, the GTS-T sporting an RB20DET and a Rear wheel drive setup. The lower model R32’s always lived in the shadow of the higher spec GTR model amongst hardcore Skyline Fans, but that didn’t stop anyone’s visions of creating the perfect R32 without having a GTR. This GTS-T was torn down and rebuilt from the ground up.
Some of you may have seen this photo before of this rear end tucked 32 drifting at Hiroshima At least once a week because I’m a sad individual I find myself going back and staring at this picture, I really just love how nuts this 32 looks with the drag wing, VIP wheels with white centers and the drag wing and for some strange reason the GT bonnet seems to add to the look!

Freddie’s Golf is definitely a rare breed around the south of Ireland. While the MK5 Golf is in plentiful supply, its rare to find one which had been perfectly executed with such clean style. Its true that in Ireland, the Euro scene is nowhere near as big as the Japanese scene. I’m going to go ahead and say that for two reasons: Number one, because it may just be true. Its hard to find a Golf or another Euro car for that matter that has been done to this kind of standard. Hopefully Reason two is because I want people who may have something along the lines of this golf to read this and get angry and contact the site for a feature because its damn near impossible to find you out there! Flip has been soaking the shit out of the sun in the land down under and has sent me some cool pics. I’m jealous i wouldn’t mind a break from Ireland just for a small bit also. Seems Queensland has some serious cars.

Looks like flip snapped up a car i was just watching in a video that seems to be sort of famous. That’s kind of creepy. Check out this drift video from down under and please check that s13 with that serious stance going flat out. Its an amazing looking car. Its also amazing when people build cars like that which look like they would never hit the track but are out there going flat.
I had to save the best for last. What a beast. Give me this hog any day with them smooth rims and that front bumper which would make Vin Diesel cum in his pants. This is a serious 1999 car which ran away from the Fast and the Furious and went to Australia…. Maybe its runs ten seconds also?… Just maybe.. Well that’s Australia or some of it through flips camera. Good job on the hunting of the cars man.
