So you might have seen this very striking SXE10 Altezza from our latest video. It’s a pleasure to nail the car down for a shoot finally. We’ve been trying to nail this car down for a shoot for the best part of ten years. It’s a miracle that it still exists.
Let’s get stuck right back into our walk around Japfest 2017. I can’t stress how good this event was, it’s a clear indication that we are out of the dark times. The car scene is booming once again.
This article was lost when the website went under. I managed to recover most of it and felt it was right to get these photos up here from what was easily one of the best Irish car shows to date. This will be coming in two parts as there is a huge photo dump with this feature. I’ve left the original writing intact so it might sound a little weird as those were supposed to be posted back in 2017.
I see this Altezza quite a lot and this time had the camera to take a snap. There’s just something so right about it being yellow and having those Advan Model 5’s poke out like that on the rear.
This is just one of those cars. A car you either love or hate at first glance. The Altezza itself was marketed in Europe as a Luxury car that we all know as the Lexus is200 or 300. This car was targeted at business men and people who wanted a luxury style car but with the reliability of a Toyota. The same went for the Altezza which was Italian for “highness” in Japan. This car was a sport luxury car which was supposed to attract a more upper class type of customer. A car to go up against Mercedes and BMW. More>>>
