Collecting a 4age and an unexpected K20 Cortina

Here are a few quick photos I took when I went to collect the 4age 20valve from the unexpected shed visit last year. I had an inbox message asking If I wanted to buy a black top 20, but I didn’t expect Tom and the family to have such an exciting selection—a restaurant model on a Cortina with a K20 and a selection of Hillman Imps.

This looks right at home in the bay; I love the gunmetal colour, too, against that K20. I need to chat with Tom and try to do a follow-up video of this car.

This Cortina was in the same shed with the door open, and it’s pretty much past the point of no return; it’s wild just how destructive nature destroys these cars here in Ireland if they aren’t protected. Both cars look like they came from two different universes. At least this can be used for parts.

Another shot of this epic engine bay; I Love the manifold; it’s astonishing how it routed in and goes through a dent cut out in the bay.

These are such beautiful-looking coupes.

Tom and his father have a lengthy history with cars; it was cool to have a little nose around the shed to see what’s in store. Camshafts, clutches of all sorts, a traditional car enthusiast’s shed!

Genuine smiles with a spare AE86 engine are getting hard to find. I was delighted that Tom reached out and offered this one to me.
