Event: Heatwave 2011 car park watch

So its that time again where we take a look at what you drive to the shows, this gives a good look into whats going on out there and usually you end up finding some cool stuff which you wouldn’t see inside a show itself.

Event: Mondello Drift Day

So since there is a nice gap in between the next Prodrift event, Mondello had another track day for drift practice, owners could pay 140 euros to drive on the track all day in pretty much whatever they choose. These days are just as if not more interesting then some of the professional events down to the fact that the track is a mix of Decent and learner driver’s so things can be very unpredictable. Most cars come home with at least one love tap or maybe two…

Prodrift Round 2 2011: Fermoy PT2

The weather looked gloomy all day, and many feared rain. Somehow or another nature decided not to be horrible as usual leave drifting alone for the day in Fermoy. The gloom and dull weather didn’t stop some epic battles taking place which in turn made the crowd forget about the dullness and greyness. Instead drifting put a smile on peoples faces and that’s what its all about.

Prodrift Round 2 2011: Fermoy PT1

This year the weather was looking super dodgy, we didn’t get a chance to make it down on Saturday but on Sunday morning as we hit the road it was already looking to be a shit day. Somehow the rain staid in the clouds and it turned out to be another awesome day in Cork. The Drift Ireland guys basically had the entire “show and shine” type of area from last year to themselves apart from one accord. Nickys Trueno is out of this world sexy and was hidden in between Pete’s GS pimp wagon and that beautiful 180 we should do a feature on.

Prodrift Round 2 2011: Fermoy Carpark Watch

With every decent car Event Ireland, it usually means a somewhat decent selection of cars that have been driven to the event by you, the car enthusiast. This time we went lurking the car at Prodrift Fermoy to see what you guys showed up in, its a g glimpse into what the scene is like at the minute and most of the time we find some good and some bad gems lurking amongst the crowd.

Prodrift Round 1: Ennis Pt2

Waking up early Sunday morning and looking out the window to see another day of glorious weather was a rare feeling.  Just as things got underway the track claimed another car as we saw a collision between Damien Short’s Corolla and Nick Quealy and his R32. Sadly for Damien the 86 would not make it back onto track for the rest of the event.

Prodrift Round 1: Ennis Pt1

It was 5am on a Saturday morning and the phone was vibrating with a text from Martin Ffrench. Walking out of the house and seeing his Altezza all loaded up on the trailer looking gleaming and ready for action was enough to wake anyone up. The car was ready for the first round of Prodrift which was to be held in Ennis Co. Clare.  Hopes of a dry weekend slowly started to fade as we made our way through the Tipperary countryside and darkness started to disappear and reveal some horrible Irish clouds . This was looking to be another typical weekend just like the one at Ennis back in 09. To our surprise we drove right through the rain and out the other side…. mother nature was down for some drifting on that weekend and gave us Ireland some of the best weather it could have ever asked for.

Straightliners Spring 2011 Pt2

The crowd continued to grow throughout the day. It was so nice to be able to enjoy the racing without usual Irish weather pouring down on everything. Its not actually that bad of a country once the sun come out! More>>>

Straightliners Spring 2011 PT1

It was that time of year again to head from the very south of Ireland up to the north. Straight liners was about to begin again and we expected another turbo journey to lay ahead of us. Surprising enough this time around all the new motorways had been fully open and we actually made it from Waterford to Enniskillen in about 3 hours abiding by the speed limit. This is one of the most exciting drag racing events in Ireland, well to be honest there isn’t too many. The best thing about Straighliners is the fact that you just don’t know whats going to show up.

Event: Dubshed PT2

The level of cars at Dubshed was very surprising to be honest. Most of the cars both inside and outside the sheds were top notch. Even in the picture above you can get a glimpse of just how fantastic the penis on the roof of this Passat was. The attention to detail was superb.

Event: Dubshed PT1

We decided to take the trip up to Dubshed up the North of Ireland. Having missed it the year before I really wanted to  make sure to get it up on the site this time around. As I’ve said many times, the Japanese car scene dominates the south of Ireland. There’s nothing wrong with that at all, to each his own but the intentions of making Juicebox in the first place was to get a good mix of decent cars on the website which represent to finer parts of the Irish car culture. Finding a decent VW down the south really is a hard mission. Yes they do exist. But usually their owners aren’t the type of people to have them on show or really bring them around too often to be photographed. Even finding them online is quite the challenge. We ended up seeing so many car’s from the south at the show which left us scratching our heads wondering where they had come from!

Track Day: AE86 Trackday Mondello

I was going crazy I missed this last year, so this year I made sure my weekend was free to trek up to the AE86 track day. It had been raining all week and was looking bad, which is typical in Ireland. Somehow the rain decided to take a break only for that Saturday and mother nature even showed us a bit of sunlight which is always a treat.

Events: Straightliners Enniskillen September 2010

The trip was nice and long, and it wasn’t looking very promising as the rain decided to pour down just before we made it to Enniskillen. Typical Irish weather which really isn’t the best of friends with drag racing.
