Prodrift Round 2: Punchestown 2010 Pt 1

There was a shit load going on off track at Punchestown. I got a little snap happy with some of the stuff which was off track so I decided to divide the track action and paddock stuff into two separate sections. I was truly suprised at the level some of the cars are at in Ireland after Punchestown. There was a really good selection of Japanese goodness in the Paddock and a few other things.

This Kazama Auto s15 which is now on our shores was truly an amazing looking s-chassis.

On the first day everyone got there wax out the get stuff shiny.

Then this gem showed up. I personally love this car. It may not be to everyone’s taste. Id say that only a tenth of the crowd shared my opinion on how cool this s13 was.

It was great to see someone with a different sense of style and humor. The bosozoku style exhaust was crazy and the car had that Ebisu missile look to it.

The chrome crk ais were sweet and if they had a little more of a stance this thing would be amazing. Even without that I just loved how rough and ready it looked compared to all the other standard looking Altezzas surrounding it. Definitely an original car. Cant wait to see what is done to it next.

The next day a mint stanced rps13 parked up next to it. It was cool to see too very cool looking s-chassis from the Nissan family side by side from two different frames of mind.

Just as the stanced 180 rolled in, so did this crisp Fd chassis rx7. Two cars that are definitely doing it right in the Irish car scene.

A cool little yellow ek4, The sticker would definitely make more sense if it was slammed. Get low! haha

There was some seriously cool cars at the am day also. Like this Altezza. I didn’t get a chance to take many snaps from the am day because it didn’t seem like we were allowed to go beyond the fence. Maybe next time.

Battle scars can always look good. Especially when you can afford to rock them on an s15.

Speaking of s15’s Christy Carpenter had his freshly purple’d s15 out and ready for action.

We lurked this hachi which was parked right at the back of the event. It was rocking some sp1s and had some cool stance going on. The hachi looks mean with no front grill.

Some clipping marks on the light and bumper? This car was beautiful. Some really cool Aero looking Mirrors also which didn’t take from the car.

The Meisters with the gold center were a nice touch to compliment the clean exterior of the car.

I cant get enough of this er34. More on this car soon..

I liked the little Yashio factory sticker matching the wheels. Yeah I’m sad, but it looked cool.

The guys from WKD imports had an rc drift track laid out for people to have a try. I was loving that red cefiro in the corner.

It was cool to see some BMW competition in the event.

Some rough and ready E36 Bmws from Barry’s Motorsport.

Wow, some turbo colourway going on here. It looked like it drove straight out of Ridge racer.

Even the crows were enjoying this rps13.

I guess you know what this is for!

This sr20 powered Hachi was a beast.

A snug fit sr20 with a v-mount. Everything looked so mint for a drift car! The blue engine bay was a cool contrast against the candy red.

What other wheels would you need to suit such a bling ae86!

I couldnt get enough of this stanced roadster on some steelies. Definitly one of the first to be done in this country for sure.

Yum.

The guys from Tekno twinky brought such an amazing Hachi, I couldnt get a decent pic so ill leave you with this ssrmk1! haha I fucking love these wheels and managed to fail with every snap I took of the car. Hopefully ill get a chance in the future to do more.

The guys from DriftIreland brought some serious rides to the table. Take this mkII for example. Not sure what offset those wheels are but the stance was sick nonetheless.

Eric O Sullivans e30 was looking good on some steelies.

I love this a31.

If it works for them it can work for anyone. Stance truly does set a car off from others. Im not saying its something that should be done to every car that comes along but when its done correct it can look so good. The ssr sp1’s look amazing on this Cefiro.

You can tell this r32 is used. I’m not going to say abused haha, but you get what I mean.

The drift Ireland guys are doing shit right anyways. This rps13 is such a winner exterior wise.

Meisters always look good. Fact.

I must admit I was genuinely surprised to see people skateboarding and biking around the Paddock during the event. Things have become a lot less sham free. There is nothing wrong with not being into these sports and that but you can see a definite influence on the car scene in the last few years in terms of cars style and lifestyle. It went from Air Max and body kits to DC’s and offset and that. The guys from drift Ireland definitely have broken that generic mold in terms of the lifestyle at Irish car events and I thought it was cool to see them doing things different and showing what they were about.

Get your Din Viesel on.

Alan Sinnott’s Hachi is definitely one of the Nicest contenders in the Prodrift series.

At least someone had a good sense of Humor.  Check those arches, rear wing and that mean scoop. What a beast.

Nigel Colfers new colour way on the sileighty was tasty.

Stay tuned for the drift coverage. Sorry if there was too many snaps, I had to, shit was too good not to show.
