A Balanced S2000 Daily

Im sure you have seen the video by now; Im playing catch up with the photos. Sean’s car is something I had taken for granted, as it sits outside work day after day. He always dreamed of owning an s2000, and as we said in the video, they are few and far between on Irish roads.

Another thing that you rarely see here also is a Japanese-styled example. More reserved enthusiasts own most, and during the Irish car import boom, very few Japanese tuned examples came to Ireland.

It was rare having two of Ireland’s finest examples for a shoot on the same day. Each owner with different tastes and different approaches to chassis.

Incredible to have this pairing, two different takes on the same chassis.

At the back, some Carbon diffusers are fitted to a stock bumper with cutouts giving the rear end a more aggressive look. Some Buddyclup P1 lights finish the styling paired with an APR GT wing. F1 Style APR mirrors complement the spoiler.

Sean’s approach to this car is modest, with a Nice front bumper complimenting the original clean lines of an S2000. The bumper was a Yahoo auctions find. Sean managed to spot this list for cheap and took a chance, the joys of working on Yahoo Auctions all day! Ings manufacture it, and it’s all the car needs to give that added front-end aggression.

The cockpit is fitted with a Keys racing wheel, a Bride driver’s seat, and a Feels Japan shift knob. The car is sitting on BC coilovers and has a usable ride height.

Te37’s refinished in white do the trick, matched with the white exterior paint. Some Advan tyre stencils look good on the tyres held on with Project Mu Nuts.

Under the hood, Sean has repainted the cam cover blue, added a host of Chasing J’s parts and fitted a Buddyclub manifold. A Cusco Carbon strut brace and a fresh Koyo radiator are visible when the hood opens.

Overall this is a nicely put-together car which can handle daily duties and the occasional Track day whenever Sean gets the chance. These cars need very little to look good, and sean has put together a great example.

Gunsai weapons the pair of them. I think I’ve only ever seen one on the road that wasn’t an oul’ lad driving bone-stock (nothing wrong with that but made me laugh when you pointed it out in the vid).

My friend’s brother had one when I was still in school and let me sit in the driver’s seat to check out the driving position; between that and the Supra he had in the driveway before that I’d be tempted to sue him for what he’s done to my bank account years later
