I’ve been slacking lately, updating this side of Juicebox with articles. Years ago, it used the website, everything was about getting an excellent piece up with photos, and I enjoyed that pace. Lately, I feel like im playing catchup on youtube and Instagram trying to keep the algorithms happy. It’s weird being so far behind with the videos, too. I have to make sure im releasing the content that matches the episodes’ dates.

Since July, the weather has been good. It was hard to sit inside and find time to make it happen. Hopefully, over the winter months, I can double down on the content, as there are considerable gaps in the backlog due to japan in a van and other bits.

Jimmy Oakes calls down to the shed on his tour of Ireland with Dave from Driftgames and enjoys some rings in Reuben’s slightly broken C33 Laurel.

We take a closer look at this very cool street style AE86 Levin, inspired by the millennium era of Japanese drifting.

A great moment. The AE86 finally has two working headlights! We fit brand new Raybrig lights and bulbs and appreciate the two functioning Truneo pop-ups.

A couple of Epic S2000s reside in the town I work in every day, so I decided to hook up with them to make a video and shed some light on a lesser-loved chassis.

The Dream AE86 bumper lands at JDM Distro from Japan. Here’s a little mash-up of a work day in the life, unloading dream parts with a remarkable history.

Our friend Gerry shows us his freshly imported one-owner SR5 AE86, which he brought back from Canada, along with his BRZ.

Not everything goes to plan. Unfortunately, our exhaust mission didn’t work out, I sort of forced josh to make an exhaust for me, and realistically I should have got one made up elsewhere. It’s one of those situations where you have a friend who can weld, and suddenly everyone asks him to do work.

This was a productive weekend of sorting the dash, realising the exhaust is fucked and requires a whole new system, painting the little metal piece on the car’s frame to match the life, and sorting the headlight brackets.

I hadn’t been to the shed in a few weeks due to covid lockdown nonsense, so seeing Josh balls deep in his s15 resto and Flip doing some bits on his FC was a pleasant surprise. We usually get more stuff done when there isn’t a crowd!

Our video on Paddy’s shed went down a treat a couple of weeks ago, I could have spent an entire day going through the collection, but time was against us, so much so that we had to call back for a second look after work as the evening light quickly vanishing.

This shed is incredible, a man and his friends saving Irish Toyotas from the scrapper. The look and feel of this place are like something from an old Optiojn DVD feature when they call out to someone’s rural shed packed with old gems. I’m sure most of you have seen the video by now, so ill let the photos do the talking.

We fit the new exhaust, but it doesn’t go to plan. To save the day, we repair the new AE86 dashboard.

Blog posts have taken a back seat. It seems the blog has died, and now photography feels like it’s under attack due to tik-tok and reels. In a few years, it feels like photography will be utterly pointless on social media as we move towards a more on-the-fly video type of consumption. Regardless, I love shooting photos and have always enjoyed documenting friends’ cars and such.
